Our Steps to Net Zero

2022 January

When designing our range, we focused on glass bottles, with dishwasher proof print, and a metal top pump tested to 50,000 presses, ensuring long life, and in doing so, reducing carbon and waste. We have always been a ‘Refill First’ brand, offering our bottles empty with bulk refill containers - saving carbon in packaging and transportation.

2022 APRIL

For our first pack day, we collected cardboard from Lush, the local shop and florist to process, cut and wrap our glass bottles. This process helped us save virgin trees and also centred reuse in our model, rather than recycling. We also ensured these first products were wrapped in newspaper offcuts, recycled paper labels, packed using used cardboard as void fill, into end of line boxes and secured with paper tape. [This process also creates a lot of valuable work!]

2022 JULY

Sourced paper document wallets for use with cardboard boxes, so they are recyclable together.

2022 august

Working with ReLondon, we analysed and developed a container reuse programme, utilising back haul logistics to return the 5L container to us. [Unfortunately, to date, no significant volumes have been returned - though this is offered to all distributors as standard. We have also recognised several similar programmes misrepresent ‘recycling’ as ‘reuse’.

2022 OCTOBER

Realising our first manufacture run of silver wall brackets lead to approximate 25% rejects due to scratched stainless steel, we redesigned, and powder coated black, allow us to reuse dozens of rejected wall brackets [and turns out, customers preferred the black!]

YEAR 1 (up to end 2022)

We measured our Scope 1-3 emissions with Normative: 24.722t CO2e. Though we appreciate its not the answer, we do think its better to act to globally protect carbon sinks and plant trees so we also removed approximately 30t CO2e

2023 AUGUST

Amplify Goods worked with Clarasys and University of Exeter to design the circular future of soap - the first steps of SUDZERO - grounded in solid research.

2023 NOVEMBER

Launch of locally mixed eco diffuser blend, using high three natural ingredients - and packed in a reused 1L aluminium cannister that can be returned for reuse. [When compared to small refills, often plastic, creating a lot of waste, and higher carbon]

YEAR 2 (up to end 2023)

We measured our Scope 1-3 emissions with Normative: 6.67t CO2e. Though we appreciate its not the answer, we do think its better to act to globally protect carbon sinks and plant trees so we also removed approximately 15.3t CO2e.

2024 July

We reduced the thickness of all wall brackets from 3mm 304 stainless steel to 2mm stainless steel. At the same time we reduced the distance from metal worker to powder coater to us from 250+ miles to under 80 miles. We also made the decision to use more of our cash flow to buy in full sheets, optimising the use of stainless steel and reducing waste.

2024 NOVEMBER

Launch of first 100% water and plastic free product; solidarity bar soap, using upcycled ingredients and locally sourced packaging - with box turning into a bookmark after use.

YEAR 3 (up to end 2024)

We measured our Scope 1-3 emissions with Normative: 84t CO2e. Though we appreciate its not the answer, we do think its better to act to globally protect carbon sinks and plant trees so we also removed approximately 16.67t CO2e and additionally planted 235 mangrove trees, which are likely to draw down 72t CO2e during their life, and have a good chance of survival and likely natural propagation.

2025 August

We completed our first two LCAs with Devera in the run up to the SUDZERO launch.

2025 September

The launch of SUDZERO with a 84%+ reduction in carbon compared to ready to use products, 100% plastic free refills, made in the UK and utilising compostable and reused cardboard for packaging.
